SALT DESIGN STUDIO led a multi-disciplinary team to develop a Master Plan for Tustin Playground & Recreation Center. Tustin serves as a critical community hub for the Overbrook neighborhood and features a recreation center building, ballfield, swimming pool with sprayground, two basketball courts and a playground. The planning process included numerous community meetings facilitated by SALT with local residents (youth, volunteer mentors, neighborhood leaders, seniors) and Recreation Center staff to solicit input on desired programming, prioritize goals for improvements and to determine the best locations for various types of indoor and outdoor programming. The resulting Master Plan provides an exciting and responsive comprehensive vision for this well-loved recreation center and vital community hub in Overbrook.
