Guided by the theme of “River, City, Tracks,” the new playground design is colorful, lively and rooted in place, reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of its urban environs. The design captured additional space west of the playground to accommodate new swings and equipment in both toddler and junior lots. The new safety surface design clearly contextualizes the playground with an abstraction of the river, the city and the tracks, the confluence of which make the Schuylkill River Park unique as an urban destination.
