RYAN HERILLA | Landscape Designer

Ryan is a Landscape Designer with SALT DESIGN STUDIO. Ryan is passionate about fostering a sense of place through design, and promoting the use of native plants to support ecological systems. Growing up, he was always outdoors -- whether in Boy Scouts, sports or other community organizations -- and today those experiences shape his desire to connect people to the natural environment that surrounds them.

During his prior work experience at a Maryland Botanical Garden, Ryan worked alongside master gardeners on design and implementation of various gardens, ranging from native pollinator and winter gardens to more formal Japanese-inspired gardens. He brings experience developing projects from initial concept and schematic design through construction documentation, primarily in multifamily residential development and streetscapes, as well as park and playground planning.

Ryan has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Maryland.
