SALT was hired by Atglen Borough to facilitate a Community Engagement process, and to develop Design-Construction Documentation, after completing the Atglen Borough 4-Parks Master Plan in 2020. The Borough used SALT’s planning workproducts to successfully secure both state and county grant funding for this new park on the 2-acre property where Atglen Borough Hall is located. Multiple meetings and workshops with stakeholders were held to ensure the new park reflects the needs and identity of the existing community. The new park features two play areas (one with equipment and one for natural adventure play), a picnic lawn, restored woodland edge, new trail head that leads to the Chester Valley/Enola Low-Grade Trail, and a renovated, accessible parking lot. This new park creates opportunities for recreation of all ages, inter-generational social gathering, and connections with the local ecology.
